The Academy for Film & Television focuses on teaching self-expression through intense coaching, audition techniques, basic script preparation, interactive games and improvisation. Students spend time developing and performing two commercial scripts, and a comedy and dramatic dialogue along with like minded individuals.

Excel's international award-winning curriculum has developed actors who have won top awards on a national level in New York & Los Angeles and many have landed parts in feature films including The Holiday, Yours Mine and Ours, and on Broadway. Excel's actors have also appeared on popular television shows such as Law & Order, Criminal Minds, iCarly, Nickelodeon's Just Jordan, and in national television commercials such as Splenda, Eggo Waffles, K-Mart, and Wal-Mart.
